Well he pups have now been settling in to their new homes and all reports back have been very positive. The two pups I have decided to keep from this litter have been to the vets for their first jabs and check up and have been given an excellent healthy report. Now it will be just a socialising game and waiting until next spring before we start their formal training.

We have had a huge response to the availbility of Tia's pups, with enquiries going over the 50 plus mark. We are now starting a waiting list for 2010.
The pups are all doing great, and their lucky owners will be collecting them in the next two weeks. I will also be inviting them all back in 6 months time to see how their pups are developing.

Well with the shooting season underway my dogs are ready and cannot wait to get started. The monthly training days have been a great success. The individuals that have visited the last few months have now got their dogs steady, retrieving to hand, and looking for direction. This Sunday past we had two walked up practise runs on dummies were all the dog and handlers had great success. There are still lessons to be learnt; one of them being the handler must mark the dummy correctly to be able to direct their dog. All the dogs are gaining confidence and this can be seen in their turn of pace and willingness to succeed.
The next training day at the of September I will increase the level of difficulty by increasing distances, introducing blinds for the more advanced. By December I will be putting on a working test, so all the owners can compete against each other with me being judge.

The pups are now 2 weeks plus and all looking really good. Tia is doing a great job on bringing them up. They just started to open their eyes yesterday, and they are mostly on their feet. I will hopefully get some good photo's later.
All the girls have been booked out to their new homes and deposits paid. I have two boys left for the right homes at this time.

Tia's pups arrived this evening.
The first arrived just after 7pm and the last at 10.10pm.
There are 5 girls, which will please my daughter, and 3 boys, which gives me a choice as well. All look to be healthy and are feeding well. Tia looks in great shape too.

Tia is looking like a barrel so I expect it will not be much longer before she has her first litter. Fingers crossed for a healthy litter.

Well I have great news. After my disappointment last year when Tia wouldn't stand, she is now swelling like a balloon, and looking great. Tia is much bigger at this stage than Jura was, so maybe the litter will be slighty more than 5. As long as there health I dont mind.
For anyone interested I have started a waiting list. Deposit secures phone or email for details.

Well the last couple of weeks have been pretty busy with keeping the thriving Rabbit population down, and training the dogs on them. Which is excellent for steadyness training.
Not sure if Tia is in pup as yet, although she very clingey. Should be able to tell for sure in the next couple of weeks.

Tia has been away in Yorkshire this week being mated with Peter Bates FTW Levengyhl Isle of Aaron, and would recommend Peter and Pippa to everyone for the care and consideration they have given in looking after Tia, while waiting for the right day to be mated. If anyone is thinking of using Levengyhl Isle of Aaron I would recommend them on the service and kindness alone. Fingers crossed for a successful mating.
