Gibb's is now proven at stud and available to health tested labs only.
Looks like Belle is finishing her season, and not interested at all in standing to be mated. So I am sorry to say we will not have any lab pups this year. Belle will be sold as a trained dog.
Belle has still no interested in being mated.
Belle is still not wanting to be mated. Happier in his company but still planting herself to the ground. Time is running out, we'll see tomorrow brings.
I think we may be getting closer, but time is now ticking, Belle is on day 18.
Belle still not interested in standing for Gibbs.
Tilly has still not come in to season yet.
Belle still not wanting to stand, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. Fingers crossed. Mr Gibbs is very keen.
Belle is now in season and we hope to mate her with Mr Gibbs in the coming weeks.
New Dog trailer on order. Should be here in two to three weeks.
Due to a cancellation I now have two spaces for the beginners training session on the 17th March.

Time to get the your labs out for training. Jessie is now 6 months Teal 8 months. Photo's to follow.
All the lab pups are spoken for.
Dexter will be off to his new home next week.
Off picking up tomorrow. Good to have a break from completing lessons. Training Diary is full until December now.
First day on the syndicate shoot. Tilly hunted great and produced some nice birds for the guns. Tia sat and my peg for the third drive and retrieved two pheasants. Scally out on the last drive and sat like a dream, listened well to all the shots, watch a bird go over a gun next to me, shame we didn't get a shot, but he was most impressive.
A little cold game training with Teal today, retrieved great, got very excitied, so that's her for 6 months. Will complete her training on dummies now.
Looked at some new training ground for walked up on game, very interesting.
Looks like Sasha will be having her pups today. Off her food and making beds.
Freddie, Scally and Sasha all passed their bva eye test today for the second year running.
Sasha has come to stay to have her pups. They are due on the 10th October, and will be pra clear by parentage. Well done to our Scally who is the sire.
Our stud dog Freddie has hit his century. :-)
We mated Scally with Sasha on the 8th Aug. We can now confirm she will be expected pups around the 10th October. Pups will be PRA clear by parentage. Both Scally and Sasha have great hip and elbow scores, have current eye certificate, and PRA clear, Sasha is also CNM clear by parentage.
Off for a shooting lesson later today, to improve my skills for this coming season.
Well Millie settled and slept all night, just a wee pee, not bad for a first night.
Started Teal's training this morning. Walking on the lead and sit to voice and whistle. Will be continueing Belle's training later today, with some memories and blinds.
Andrea has moved Molly our wee yellow girl inside. Jessie, Nash and Scout her litter siblings are staying out in their kennel. Jessie will soon move in with Teal.
Beginners and Novice training days are both fully booked for August.

23rd May 2012.
9pm: Jura whelped 8 pups. 3 Yellow Boys, 3 Yellow Girls, 1 Black Boy, and 1 Black Girl. We will be keeping back two pups, but not sure which ones as yet. The pups will be PRA tested as we may use the dog we keep back for breeding in the future. The test is done by a blood sample which cannot be done until 4 weeks, and it usually takes another 4 weeks to get the results. We keep the pups until they are 12 weeks, and let them go to the right homes fully vaccinated, kennel club registered, microchipped, health checked by our vet, and additional paper work. We charge £650 for our pups.
18th May 2012.
Training tips when using starting pistols or dummy launchers, always stand well back from the dog, easier if you have a friend. If the dog doesn't like it don't rush it. Go further back, the dog must be praised by its owner when the bang goes off.
1st May 2012.
Jura is in pup after being mated with FTCH Copperbirch Paddy of Leadburn. Pups are due at the end of May. We plan to keep back two pups from this litter.
14th April 2012.
This weeks training tip: To train a dog well takes time and patience, it can never be rushed, remember its about working as a team.
10th April 2012.
More photo's of Tia's pups on Facebook. Pups have just opened their eyes today and trying to get on their feet; and they are not even three weeks old until Sunday night.
10th April 2012.
Scally, Rocco, Gibbs, and now Belle are all doing great in their training. Giving the Spaniels a rest for a few weeks; waiting for a little more scent on the ground for them.
10th April 2012.
Training Tip this week. Keep all your voice and whistle commands as quiet as possible, this will make the dog listen a little more to what you are asking.
9th April 2012.
Freddie meets one of his sons Monty.
5th April 2012.

1st April 2012.

31st March 2012.
Training tip this week. Tone of voice is so important, trying using a soft voice for recall and praise, and change your tone of voice for things you dislike, but try not too shout.

25th March. Day 64 08.10am
Up and down in the night checking her every couple of hours. Not eating her breakfast this morning, starting to make beds, so will not be long now. Andrea could be very busy, as I have a training day.
Tia is still hanging on, a little bed digging, but not a lot, bet she starts at 2am or something stupid.
21:40pm No news as yet.
Tia has decided not to eat her breakfast this morning, we could be getting a little closer. 07:40am
Freddie has a friend in, so just getting a cuppa before we get started.
No news as yet, could be moving in to day 63. 18.30pm
Tia is eating and sleeping, pups are still in hiding. 07.55am
Tia is still holding on. I think Andrea's going to have a busy weekend. I have training all weekend.
Looks like we will be going into the weekend with Tia. No sign of whelping on day 61.
Jura has been mated with FTCH Copperbirch Paddy of Leadburn http://www.leadburngundogs.com/stud.htm
21st March PM.
Nothing happening tonight, very content, no bed making and happy to eat.
Day 60, didn't manage all her food, but know other signs. Tia is doing fine and holding on to them for now.
Tia is getting bigger by the day. Not long now.
The young dogs are certainly enjoying their training, and coming on well. Rocco is going from strength to strength and will certainly trial if I decide to keep him.
With a week to go the whelping box has been dusted off, washed and ready for Tia's new arrivals.
Training tip this week. If your dog struggles with a particular exercise, make it easier, and complete the exercise in the same place each time.
If a dog spits a dummy out, it could be for two reasons, firstly a treat has been given as a reward, or the reward is offered when the dummy is out of the mouth.
Always try and reward your dog while holding the dummy, try walking to heal with them carrying the dummy. If they still drop, try different objects.
Tia has slowed down a little and looks great. A couple of weeks to go now.
Jura is now in season. She is normal ready to be mated on day 12 to 13. I think we are going to use our young Gibb's, but will decide for sure in the next week.
Tia is quite large which is a concern, as she still have three weeks to go.
Top tip. Don't introduce your dog to game to early. 15 months plus at least for a lab is a good age.
29th Feb 2012
Amazing what a few days can do. Tia has sure put on some size now, nolonger our fit girl. But it's not for long.
27th Feb 2012
Tia is in pup and they will be due towards the end of March.
23rd Feb 2012
Top tip this week. If things don't go to plan, don't blame the dog, look at yourself. Make the exercise easier or go back to basics.
10th Feb 2012
Consistancy is the key. If you are not consistant how can your k9 partner be. After all you are a team.
8th Feb 2012
This weeks tip. Too much free time leads to dogs not wanting to listen to your commands.
1st Feb 2012
Training tip of the week. Less is more, don't give you young dog retrieve after retrieve, it can create unsteadyness and a noicey dog.
6th January 2012
Mr Gibbs has just got his hip and elbow results. Hips 3:3 and Elbows 0:0
21st January 2012
